Zone Ortles Cevedale
An easy trekking at the bases of Ortles Cevedale, in an environment where untouched nature meets fascinating alpine traditions. In Val di Rabbi the tradition of mountain pasture still exists, the summer migration of the cattle from the valley floor to the high-altitude pastures.
Along the route you will meet some typical wooden or stone constructions, called “malghe”. Some of them are dedicated exclusively to animal hospitality and production of dairy products, others offer a place to spend the night at. Some huts have been renovated and offer comfortable private rooms decorated in alpine style. After spending a refreshing night, we will immerge ourselves completely in the mountain spirit, spending our second night in the hut (the “rifugio”), where we will share pure mountain essence with hikers and alpinists.
This is a trekking which conjugates the knowledge of rural world, the traditional hospitality and good kitchen, along with perfumes and sounds of nature in one of the widest protected territories of the Alps.
Technical description
- DAY ONE: VAL MALEDA – After reaching Val di Rabbi, we will meet the Mountain Guide who, after a briefing, will take us to discover the secrets of Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio. We will cross a suspended bridge over 100 metres from the floor and keep on walking into the woods. Cows, sheep and horses will welcome you along the road and stay with you during the last section. Once reached the hut, you’ll be welcomed again by a genuine familiar atmosphere and, while waiting for a typically local dinner, you will be able to attend the traditional milking process. - DAY TWO: VAL SAENT – we wake up early in the morning and, after a wonderful breakfast with local products, we are ready to learn how does the milk processing work. Then, we start walking towards the alpine hut. We coast the mountain which faces Val Saent, walking up gradually, and we cross wide green slopes, waterways, we reach the bases of Ortles Cevedale. - DAY THREE: SAENT WATERFALLS – a pleasant and scenic descent, surrounded by marmots and rhododendron flowers. Once crossed the wide stretch of Pra di Saent, the path leads us among bridges and water games of the Saent waterfalls, the most stunning of Val di Sole. The hut, which is located at the end of the hike, is a perfect and tasty conclusion of our adventure, before +0m/-920m/6km/3h30
The program could change according to Campo Base Team’s decisions (or the Mountain Guide’s suggestions) based on the weather forecast, keeping the structure and the focus of the activity unaltered.

Conditions of reservation
Group departures
The request of reservation will be taken in charge by our staff, who will contact you within 48 work hours to confirm. The actual departure of the group will be confirmed when the minimum number of people will be specified. If, within 21 days of departure, the number couldn’t be reached, there would be these possibilities:
- To use the deposit for another programme
- To confirm the departure with an inferior number of participants, adding an extra
- To convert the reservation to a self-guided program
- To cancel the reservation with a full refunding of the deposit
Private departures
The request of reservation will be taken in charge by our staff, who will contact you within 48 work hours to confirm. If the selected dates won’t be available, the possibilities will be the following:
- To use the deposit for another program
- To modify the date of arrival
- To cancel the reservation with a full refunding of the deposit

Conditions of payment
To proceed and confirm the reservation, a deposit will be requested (30% of the experience’s fee). The deposit will be processed 21 days before the arrival date. We accept credit card (Mastercard/Visa) or transfer.

Cancellation conditions
In case of cancellation, the following penalties will be applied.
- The 30% of the total price of the experience will be lost + eventual insurance, in case of cancellation within 45 days from the departure;
- The 70% of the total price of the experience will be lost + eventual insurance, in case of cancellation from 44 to 30 days within the departure;
- There won’t be any other refund.
