Cima Sternai is the highest peak of Val Saent and it divides it from Val d’Ultimo. The ascent needs a certain level of training but the landscapes it offers are breath-taking.
Technical description
This ascent has been recently indicated with the “little men” made of stone and it’s the most comfortable, safe and interesting route which takes to Cima Sternai. From Rifugio Dorigoni we follow the path that takes us to the first lake (2596m). Once crossed the emissary, we follow the signs to the Sternai Lakes. After some weedy slopes, we turn right above the waterfalls, and always following the signs we reach the glacier of Sternai which we cross, to reach 3114m of altitude. Then, we keep on walking on the ridge, past the black dihedral on the base of the pyramid. The last sections presents brief climbing passages around II UIAA.

Info
Individual fee – 1 person = 400 euros, 2 people = 250 euros, 3 or more people = 180 euros.
Not included in the price: the half board of the Guide for the night spent at the hut (which will be taken care of by participants).
It’s possible to rent the equipment, on request.
